“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…

As you begin to apply these principles to Transform your life it may be helpful to first do an inventory using a tool called the ‘Balance Wheel of Life’. Instructions: Read over the material provided here and then on a
blank sheet of paper put a dot in the centre. Now draw a 3-inch horizontal straight line from this dot to the right. This line will represent a ‘spoke’ in your wheel of life that would be a score of 10. You will use this line as a guide on how long to draw your other ‘spokes’. Take each letter from the word TRANSFORM and rate yourself on how strong you are in this area on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest and best score. For example, if you are rating yourself on Trust in the Lord and you give yourself a score of 5, then draw a line out from the centre approximately about half the
length of the 3 inch guideline (which represents a perfect score of 10) that you drew earlier. On that line write ‘Trust in the Lord’. Each letter from the word TRANSFORM will be a spoke coming out from the dot you have placed in the centre so that !1 Dr. David Sloan

Lessons For Healthy Living TRANSFORM your Health… TRANSFORM your Life Mentally, Physically, Spiritually, Socially and Financially www.L4Ltv.com www.HerbDoctor.ca when you are done rating yourself you will have 9 spokes coming
out from the centre much like the spokes of a bicycle wheel. To complete the wheel draw a line connecting each ‘spoke’ until you have what resembles a wheel. Don’t be discouraged if your wheel looks rather misshapen – we all need to start somewhere. This exercise will clearly show you where your strengths and weaknesses lie in your balance wheel of life! Date it at the top and keep it somewhere where you can refer to it 3 months, 6 months, a year
later and re-do a new one every so often and compare your results. T – Trust in The Lord “Trust in the Lord with all your
heart… and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Prov.3:5.

The first letter in the acronym TRANSFORM stands for Trust in the Lord. In all that we do, we need to consider this as coming first in any of our attempts to transform our lives. Trust in God is the key that unlocks the door to a more powerful, confident, amazing and vibrant life! The well-known scripture passage from Proverbs carries a depth of action that is much more than meets the eye however. It means surrendering not part of but all of our heart, mind and body to Him – all of our hopes, dreams, desires, aspirations, goals… everything! Another word for trust is faith. When we know that God is in control of our lives and everything that goes on in our world and beyond, we can rest assured that He is for us (‘If God is for us, who can be against us). Jesus said, “ I am the bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…And the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:35,37).

We sometimes wonder where or how do we come up with this faith or trust that you’re talking about? Not to worry, the Lord has already provided us with the gift of Faith. It says in the Bible in Romans12:3b, “God has given to every man a measure of faith”(emphasis supplied). It is this ‘seed’ of faith that He has gifted us that we are to grow in faith and trust. In Romans 10: 17, !

of God.” Another favourite scripture of mine that will strengthen your trust in God that He has your best interests in mind is found in Jeremiah 29:11-14a. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, and when you search for Me with all your heart, I will be found by
you, says the Lord.” What are some of the health benefits of having a living faith in Jesus Christ? Well, there are many – in fact too many to list here but I will mention a few that may even surprise you.
• Reader’s Digest has reported that in a nationwide study of 21,000 people, those who prayed and attended religious services more than once a week had a 7 year longer life expectancy for Caucasians and potentially 14 years for African-Americans than those who never attended services.
